NaNoWriMo Rough Draft

CHAPTER ONE

16 years ago I was born in Long Island, New York, the first born son of Rebecca William Pierce. My mother was only 17 at the time, not fully prepared for a baby, and my dad…. Well I don’t know anything about him. All I know is that he abandoned my mother right when he was told she was going to have his child.

My mom knew before I was born, that she couldn’t raise me. The only choice she thought she had was to put me up for adoption, and that’s exactly what she did.

I haven’t seen my birth mom since I was born. I probably won’t ever see her again.

Since then I have been from foster home, to foster home. I’m kind of a troublemaker, if I do say so myself. I would always run away from my foster homes; whether they treated me badly or not.

I thought I always wanted to be independent and live on my own. I didn’t think I needed anyone, or that anyone needed me. I was wrong.

There came a day when I finally found my perfect family. A family, that showed me what love was, and made me feel special.

My adopted father and mother, Jonathan and Amanda Ketchum, I believe were a gift from God, and the symbols of love. The only person who ever made me doubt that was my step-brother, Cain.

Being the only child, Cain was used to having all the attention on him, but since I was his adopted brother, we had to share that attention.

Sometimes he would say that his parents didn’t care about him at all anymore, and that I was the favorite child. Of course, I didn’t agree with it, but even I knew it was the truth. The Ketchum’s did give me the most attention.

Well, Cain was hurt by this, and he expressed his feelings by picking on me. At school, at home, and just anytime we were together. He was the only one who could turn my dream of having a perfect family, into a nightmare. In the beginning, I ignored it, but one day I couldn’t help but to say something back…

It was on my 15th birthday. My parents had gotten me a chocolate cake, my favorite. Everything was fine, until Cain pushed my head into the cake. That had triggered me.

“I HATE YOU!”, “I WISH YOU WEREN’T MY BROTHER!”, I yelled, and so much more.

“What? You can’t take a joke?”, Cain laughed, as he scooped his hand into the cake and put it in my face.

“Stop it Cain! Go to your room this instance!”, my father yelled, his face red in anger.

That’s when I said something that I’ll regret for the rest of my life…

“This is why mom and dad love me more than you! You're a disappointment!”

Oh how I wish I haven’t had said that…

Cain turned and faced at me, “What did you say?!”

My parents stood there in embarrassment, not knowing what to do next.

“You know what you turd? You're right, I am a disappointment, but aren’t you too? Both of your parents ABANDONED you. Your dad, before you were born, and your mother after. And I don’t blame them. I would do the same if I was in there place because who would want YOU as a child?”, he said with a grin on his face, but pain in his eyes.

I snapped.

I grabbed him by the throat, then and there.

“What makes you think you can say those lies in front of my face without a consequence!”, I yelled at his face, my grip on his throat tightening as I watched the life in his eyes slowly go away.

“Let go of him, son! You're going to kill him!”, yelled mom, as my dad started to pull me away.

“GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!”, I yelled, as my eyes turned black and my voice deepened.

The lights went out.

Everything went silent.

I turned my head.

My parents were dead.

My name is Azrael William Pierce, and this is the story of how I became my own nightmare, how I became The Nightmare.

The lights turned back on. I stood there looking at my dead parents.

Whatever happened to their bodies, well itś harsh to explain. There eyes were gone, leaving a pit of nothingness in their eye sockets. That wasn't the only thing that was black though. There skin, well it changed…. As in their skin was no pitch black, as black as the night.

I couldn't believe what had happened. Did I do this? If so, how did I do this?

Then I heard I moan in the back. It was Cain, still alive but dying slowly.

“What happened?!”, I asked the poor soul. I could now see that his skin was slowly turning black too. It was like an infection that spread across his skin.

“You happened. You killed our parents, and did this to me.”, he said with pain in his voice.

“Lies! I would never do such a thing! How could I have done this?”, I yelled, even though I knew there was a possibility that this was my fault…

“I saw it with my own eyes Azrael. You murdered them. The lights turned off and we all started suffocating. It was like the darkness turned into a gas.

“Then you started chanting some bs. I don’t even think it was english, but it down sound like some kind of cult chant.

“You dropped me on the floor, then looked at father right in the eyes while saying those words. His skin started turning black, like me, and he started screaming about how painful it was. Next it was mom, she died faster though. I think she had a panic attack.

“Then it was me.”, he explained.

In my head it made no sense, but I could tell he wasn’t lying. The anger in his eyes, that was gone. It was replaced with fear. Not from his dead parents laying near him, but from me.

“No, you’re wrong. YOU'RE WRONG! This is impossible! I can’t remember any of this! The lights went off, then they turned on and I saw my parents dead. I did NOT kill my parents”, I said, as I started to cry.

“Believe it or not. But, we both know the truth. You’re a killer. I’m no longer the nightmare, but YOU are”, Cain replied, a scream came after. I forgot that he was still dying.

“God, help me”, I muttered under my breath, tears dropping from my face like a hard rain.

“God can’t help you now. Your powers are not a gift from God, but instead from the devil. You are the devil”, Cain said.

“Shut up!”, I yelled, “Even when you’re dying, you still seem to want to get on my nerves!”

My eyes started to turn black again. I could feel the power in my veins, as I grabbed Cain again.

He stared at me, this time with no fear, but now emptiness. Anger, Fear, and now emptiness…

“Do it”, Cain said.

And that’s what I did. I killed him. I am a killer.

That all happened exactly a year ago. Now I am 16, and a lot has happened since then.

First off, I ran away. I have never been back to New York again, and never will. It’s too risky.

I adopted my brothers name. There is no longer a Azrael William Pierce. I am now Cain Alexander Ketchum, a normal teenager living a normal life.. No one know’s my true identity, and now will. It’s too risky.

I haven’t used my powers since, and never will. It’s too risky.

It seems like everything is too risky now and days, but it’s all still mandatory.

I’ve thought about finding a foster home, but they would look on my personal record and find my identity. So, I live on the streets.

I kinda hide in the shadows, not wanting to be seen, but if I ever do get caught: I’ll give myself up.

Story Time Part 5

     Okay, so this is really late, but here is Story Time Part 5. We left off on a hobo staring at us. This is when the story really starts. You see, Ms. Becky is a very generous person, which is a good trait about her, but some people take advantage of that. When me, Dee, Daniel, Princess (my sister), my mom, and Ms. Becky were in line, Ms. Becky saw this middle-aged hobo just staring at us. She brought the attention to the rest of the group, and when the hobo realized we knew he was staring at us he quickly turned his head and walked away. Ms. Becky obviously felt sorry for the poor man because she had a little frown on her face. Then, out of nowhere, she ran to freaking hobo man and started a conversation with him! Everyone in our small group was so confused because she just bought a bunch of grocery's and left them in their bags. Dee was the most frustrated because he was tired from dancing and wanted to go home. He was already grumpy because he wanted to spend a night and my mom wouldn't let him. After Ms. Becky was done having a TEN MINUTE CONVERSATION WITH A HOBO, she came back to us and said that she wanted to buy this hobo some clothes and food. I wish my mom would have argued with her because then I wouldn't have to deal with the nonsense that was coming after this, but she didn't. Instead, my mom contributed into buying the hobo stuff. So, we had to stay at Walmart for at least an extra 20 minutes, buying a hobo clothes and food. To be honest, at the time wasn't so mad that we were helping the hobo, I was actually happy. But, after the events that occurred after helping him, I wish I didn't go to Dee's dance show at all. I guess we will talk about that in Story Time Part 6, but for now, thank you for reading and peace.

We reached 1000 views!!! Wow, I never thought my blog would grow so munch. It's just so crazy. It feels like it was just yesterday that I started this blog. I remember starting this blog back in December first with my "What is a 21st Century Writer" post. This was my 3rd blog I had created (the 2 others I erased) and I knew this blog was going to be my best one yet. Indeed, it is. I really enjoy giving you content to read. It just sucks that this Summer I wasn't able to, but don't worry, I'm not dead and I'm here to provide more content to you guys. Once school starts (August 30th), I will be posting sooooo much content for you guys because I'll be getting a school chrome book to bring home. I have so many things that I want to share with you guys, and once I get that chrome book I will be able too. I'm glad you guys have been patient, and waited for me to post. Just know that I'm not planning to stop blogging anytime soon!

Story Time Part 4

Ok, here's part 4 of story time. Once everyone was in the car, Ms..  Becky said that we had to stop at Walmart. I wasn't so happy about this since it was cold and late at night, so I was tired, but I dealt with it anyways. I don't actually know why we were at Walmart, for food I guess, but I do remember being there for a long time. All the kids were separating and walking around, except my sister Princess who was with my mom and Ms. Becky. I remember Dee being grumpy for some reason (probably cuz we were late to his performance), so Daniel and I were just adventuring Walmart for like half an hour. After that, my moms were done shopping, so they found the me, Daniel, and Dee. This is when the plot of the story starts coming. The part when we were waiting in line and saw a hobo staring at us.

Story time part 3

Ok, so here's part 3. Like I said in part two, we were walking to the other side of the performing arts center. Remember, it was like 9:00pm so it was pretty dark in Oxnard. I could barely see, and since our phones were dead we didn't have a flash light. So, we walked through the crowds of people. Every minute or so, someone would walk up to Dee and congratulate him. Some girl even bought him flowers. We were mostly away from all the crowds, Daniel saw a dark red truck. It was our ride! That was good news. The bad news was that it was on the other side of the rode. Ok, ok, maybe that isn't really "bad" news, but if you saw how wide the rode was you would probably change your mind.  So me and my buds start jaywalking and then out of nowhere a car pops up! Daniel and Dee start running, but me... I didn't see the car until it was like a few feet away from me and started honking. When I saw it I froze like a deer until Dee snapped me out of it. Anyways, it took us a long time to cross the road because cars kept coming and coming, but at the end we made it to the car. My mom was like, "where were you guys?", and Ms. Becky started yelling at us. Funny because they left us but whatever. Anyways, this is not the end of the story. It's barely even the beginning, so get ready for part 4. (Oh, and sorry that my writing isn't that good in my story times. I just do these in a rush because I also have two websites to work on and a bunch of homework. Peace)

Hey guys/girls! I have an important announcement. People have been asking me about The Comic Wars because I haven't posted any for a while now. Well, I can tell you one thing. I am NOT quitting on the Comic Wars, but I will not being putting on my blog. Instead of quitting the Comic Wars, I will be advancing it. What I will be doing with Comic Wars is making it into a book, an online book that I will be putting on my website. I'm sorry for telling you so late. I don't have an exact due date for the Comic Wars book, but I do know it will be posting on my website near the end of summer. Thnx for reading, and bye!

Story Time Part 2

Ok, so I was sick so that's why part two is so late. Sorry. Anyways, the performance ended so my family, Daniel, Ms. Becky, and I got out of seats and headed outside of the Oxnard Performing Arts Center (where the event was held). I guess we had to give Dee a ride home tho, so we all waited outside for Dee to come out. We waited like 10 minutes until me and Daniel spotted Dee surrounded by a bunch a people. He was getting congratulated by all his fellow dancers and his friends. We had to drag him out of crowd. So now it was me, Daniel, and Dee. We walked to where the rest of the group was, but they were gone. So now it was just the 3 of us, surrounded by about more then 200 people, placed in a huge area, at like 8:00 at night. My phone was dead, and so was Dee's (Daniel does't have  phone). We were not in a good situation. We started walking around the performing arts center for about 5 minutes, but we couldn't find the rest of the group. That's when Dee suggested we went to the car. I felt so stupid because that was a perfect idea. The only problem was that me and Daniel forgot where the car was since we where watching the performance for like an hour and a half.    We did remember that it was located somewhere on the other side of the performing arts center, so we started heading over there.

Story Time

Here is a story.

Last Friday I went to go see my friend's, Dee's, dance performance in Oxnard. I guess his school, Rio Mesa, was having 20 years of dance performance and he wanted my family and I to go. So we did. Me, my sister, my mom, and my non-blood mom mom (Becky) and non-blood brother (Daniel). It was a cold night with busy traffic, so we ended up going to the performance late. Luckily, we got to see Dee perform 3 times. He did an amazing job.

Now here is when the story begins (sorry I'm rushing because I really want to post something tonight, that's why it started out plain and boring).

You know what? Come back tomorrow if you really want to hear the story. I'll be breaking it up in parts. Anyways, peace and I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while.

Hey guys/girls! If you didn't know, there was a new Civil War update for Avengers Academy. I didn't do an update review because when I got the new update it was two weeks after it started. Since I'm not doing that kind of post, I am here to tell you that I got Black Panther in AA. I really like his 3 update designs, and I love the voice and storyline of the character. Overall, BP is in my top 5 AA characters, and I recommend you take your time to get this amazing character. He's worth it.

I'm so ANGRY!!!!

Hey guys/girls. I just wanted to tell you my feelings today. Usually I don't do this, actually I NEVER do this, but I just had to today. The problem is simple. It's about NaNoWriMo. As you might know, my class 21st Century Writing does this thing called NaNoWriMo every year. It's when are class works together to write a class book. Each person writes a chapter and at the end of year we were going to publish it. Well, guess what. This year it's canceled. Oh you don't even know how mad, frustrated, and sad about this happening. I gave up writing my own book for this! I ignored homework just so I can write more for this. I put my life into this freaking book and now it's not getting published?! Last year the 21st Century Writers published Unspoken (their NaNoWriMo), so why can't we published ours?! I know it's not Mr. Myers fault. He wanted to get this book published as much as I do. He is great teacher, and he gave us enough time to finish this book. Oh yeah. I forgot to tell you why this book is cancelled. It's because of the other 21st Century Writers (not all of them). The majority of this class slacked off when it came to this NaNoWriMo. All they did was talk and mess around with the iPads and Chrome books. They could care less about this book. This makes me so angry! If they didn't want to contribute to the book, they could of just said so! Now the people who do want to get this book published can't because of the freaking students who slack. Another reason why I'm angry is because I didn't even like the topic of our book, but still contributed! The people who did vote for our book to be a supernatural mystery didn't even contribute! They didn't have the right to vote if they weren't going to participate! We could have been doing the superhero story that me and Mr. Myers wanted to do! I put so much effort into this book! I wish every slacker in our class wasn't in 21st Century Writing! I also feel bad for Mr. Myers. All he does is support are class and we reward him by being disrespectful. The class is a talking house and Mr. Myers can never speak. He's so nice and doesn't deserve students like us! He deserves respectful students who actually listen to him! I know that there are some kids in the class that are respectful, but still! Urggg!!! All I ever wanted to do was publish a book! This was my chance! This was ALL of our chances, but of course people had to ruin it! I hate this, I hate this, I hate this! I just want to have a book published, that's all! If your reading this and you're a slacker in our class, I mean everything I said! I just wish you guys would put some actual effort in our class! I know I'm not the perfect student, you should ask what my other teachers think about me, but at least I know how lucky we are to have such a amazing class! At least I TRY to work hard is this class! I tried to do the NaNoWriMo and Aspire 3(another project our class WAS working on). I know Mr. Myers said that Aspire 3 was short noticed and that it was ok if we didn't do it, but the truth is that it's NOT OKAY! We had enough time, about 3 months! I think we could of researched and make a 4 page slide show in 3 months! This was a time for us to shine, but only two groups in our class are participating! I didn't want to do it, but still tried! I want to thank everyone who tried. If your a student who is a slacker then you should be ashamed of yourself. You should be grateful that your school has a class that can bring your creativity to life. You can do anything you want that includes writing! We don't even get much homework either! We have so much freedom in this class but you abuse it. I hate you for doing that, I just hate you. I think I got most of my anger out now so I'm going to end this off. Bye.

Getting Ready For Civil War

Hey guys/girls! I'm sorry I haven't posted lately. I really didn't know what to post, but now I do. Anyways, today's post is going to be about getting ready for the MCU's (Marvel Cinematic Universe) newest installment, Captain America: Civil War. I've been waiting for this movie ever since it was announced. It is based on my favorite Marvel comic, Marvel Civil War, which is actually the first Marvel comic I've ever read. I will be telling you all the information you need to know when you walk into the theaters to watch this amazing movie. So, lets begin.

First off, I want you to know that ever since the 1st Iron man movie came out in 2008 (yes, the MCU is 8 years old), the MCU has been leading to this movie. You see, in every Marvel movie there is a big amount of destruction. Yes, the heroes like The Hulk and Captain America save lives, but they also put others in danger by doing so. For example, in the first Avengers movie New York City was almost completely destroyed. Also, in the Incredible Hulk thousands were probably killed. This goes for Avengers 2, and Thor: The Dark World. In these movies civilians are always put in danger, and now the world is getting tired of it.

Second off, I need to tell what the Superhero Registration Act (SRA) is. The SRA is called the Sokovia Accords in the new movie. I haven't saw the movie, but from reading the comics I have a pretty good understanding of what the Sokovia Accords are (I will now call it SRA). The SRA is a document/contract that all superheroes must sign to be superheroes. Once you sign this contract you no longer have the rights to use your powers, our do "superheroing"without S.H.I.E.L.D's permission.  You also must give out your secret identity to the public, and work for S.H.E.L.D. This is what the Sokovia accords will be, but instead of working for S.H.I.E.L.D., you for the United Nations.

Finally, you need to know why are beloved heroes are fighting. On one side we have Iron Man and his team of: Black Panther, Spiderman, Black Widow, War Machine, and the Vision. They are Pro-Registration. On the other side we have Captain America and his team of: the Winter Soldier, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Ant-man, and Hawkeye. They are Anti-Registration.

I'm almost done now. I just want to tell you movies you should see before you watch Civil War. Here are them in order below.

Dear ________,

Hello, my name is Victor Prince. As you may know, I was assigned to assist Officer Anthony Quill in his assignment to find Vlan Norman, a man who was thought to have died 30 years ago. But, it turns out that he was alive and was mysteriously spotted “sucking out the soul of a man” as described by a witness.

Sounds impossible, right? Well, that’s exactly what the NPD (Novana Police Department) thought when witness Thomas Noire exclaimed to them what happened.

Well, there was someone who believed him, or at least something. The 21st Century Investigations took the case of finding this “Vlad Norman”, and wouldn’t sleep till’ it was solved.

In this debriefing report, you will read about the journey of finding this “Soul Eater”, and how we took him down.

It all started on February 16 (two days after the shootings). Before this first assignment, I wasn’t even a full agent. I was just an intern for the 21st Century Investigations. That meant, when Director Myers called my name on the intercom, I was as surprised as deer about to get hit by a car.

“Hello, this is Director Myers. Victor Prince, report to my office IMMEDIATELY. Repeat, Victor Prince report to my office IMMEDIATELY.”

As soon as I heard my name on the intercom, I rushed to Director Myers office like a cheetah. Leaving the coffee I was getting for my boss, Officer Quill, on a random table.

You see, this was the DIRECTOR calling me. I was an intern, not even close to being an agent yet, and the DIRECTOR was calling ME. It was absolutely crazy. My heart was beating like a drum, and my head was all over the place. Why would the DIRECTOR be calling ME?

As I showed up at Director Myers’ office door I could hear people arguing loudly inside. I knocked on the door and it went silent.

I was surprised when I didn’t see Director Myers, but instead my boss, Officer Quill opening the door.

“Well don’t just stand there! Get your nut head inside!” commanded Quill as he grabbed my arm into the office.

“Wow” was the first thing I thought when I walked inside. The office was covered with papers scattered everywhere, desk and floor. The Director and Quill looked exhausted, like they’ve been working on a case for days.

“Sit down”, said Director Myers, and I did exactly what he said.

“Officer Quill, do you mind telling your intern why he is here?” asked the Director, which meant, “Tell your stupid intern why he’s here before I run out of patients!”

Quill nodded. “Two days ago witness Thomas Noire claimed to have seen a man killing another in an alleyway. He described what the killer did as “sucking out the essence of the other man”.

Of course, when he reported this to the NPD no one seemed to believe him”, Quill explained. “But, as we both know, this isn’t a case for the police.”

I nodded.

“Yes, and this brings into why you’re here”, The Director said. “Mr. Quill here wants you to assist him in his assignment to find this Soul Eater.”

My legs started to get numb. “MY BOSS WANTS ME, AN INTERN, TO HELP HIM ON A MISSION?!!”, I thought in my head, but it showed on the grin on my face.

“Of course this is only because Officer Quill’s partener is on vacation, and can’t work with him on this mission”, Director Myers quickly said right after.

That still didn’t change how I felt though. This was probably the first time an intern for 21st Century Investigations got to go on real assignment! (except for when interns go through initiation, or course)

“Yes, that is true, but this is great opportunity to learn what it’s like to be on the field. By the time we finish this assignment, you will be more experienced than any other interns in this association”, exclaimed Agent Quill. “That is the why me and Director Myers were arguing before you came inside, he didn’t think it was smart to let an inexperienced intern go on such an important assignment, but I told him that you were qualified for it.”

The thought of having my boss stick up for me made me feel very appreciated, but knowing that Director Myers didn’t have faith in me… well that me know I had to work extra hard on this assignment.

“I won’t prove you wrong, sir”, I replied, shaking.

“Let’s hope not”, Director Myers muttered under his breath, but I heard him.

I shook both of there hands and then began walking away.

“Oh, and Mr. Prince”, Agent Quill said as I was about to close the door. “Don’t forget to bring me my coffee”, he finished and then shut the door.

Two days had past since the conversation and I was starting to think that Agent Quill and Director Myers forgot about the assignment. I was wrong.

“Victor Prince, please report to the flight deck. Repeat, Victor Prince please report to the flight deck”, blasted the intercom.

I was in the middle of combat training, so I had to excuse myself to my partner, John Cena. After that quickly ran/walked to the flight deck.

“You’re late”, Agent Quill said as I arrived at the flight deck.
